Happy 2nd Birthday Josie Kate!!

"Birthday Princess"

It's here! My baby is 2 and I cannot believe it!! Let me first of all say that I am very thankful that her little sister did not come on her birthday. Anyone that talks to me often knows that that concern was at the top of my list. I wanted them to have their own day (even if they do have to share parties) because you are just not supposed to have to share that! Plus, I didn't want Josie to spend her big day in the hospital with all of the uncertainty that a newborn baby can bring to a 2 year old! While Josie has her 2 year birthday, Colbie has her one week birthday =)


Josie checked out great at her 2 year check up. She was 26.6 lb (50th percentile), 34.5 inches (75th) and her head was 19.5 inches (95th). She is talking all of the time now and keeps us entertained. She is going to "Wacky Wednesdays" at Temple Baptist every Wednesday. Today they were having water day and she was very excited to go to "kools" (school), to see her "fins" (friends), and go "mimmin" (swimming) in the "pita poo" (swimming pool)!

More facts about Josie at 2 years old:

- Her favorite foods are yogurt, cheese, apple sauce, grapes, and blueberries
- We recently had to cut her off of the chocolate milk, because that was all she would drink. Now she drinks white milk, some juice, and ice water. She is getting better at the big girl cup.
- She wears a size 4 diaper... have not tackled potty training yet.
- She prefers to wear a dress every day and pick out her own shoes (of course). Her favorites at the moment are her pink Nike flip flops.
- She wears a size 18-24 mos, and sometimes a 2T.
- She has her mama's big feet... she wears a 6.5 or 7.
- She still sleeps great in her full size bed, but sometimes getting her to go to bed can be an obstacle. She wakes up easily when laid down. She likes to pick who is going to rock her each evening... spoiled?!?
- Sometimes she tells Joey to "it up" (get up) in her mean voice while pointing when he is in the rocking chair and she wants me to rock her. It's kinda rude, but funny at the same time so we let her get away with it.
- She is borderline obsessed with her cousin Ryleigh Jane and we must talk about her every day.
- She loves going mimmin at the creek at paw paws and collecting the eggs at Greg's.
- She has moved on from Elmo to Barney... UGH. She knows alot of the words to the "I love you" Barney song.
-She naps from 12 to 2:30 or 3 every day and goes to bed around 8.
-She is very affectionate and gives me lots of hugs and kisses. She loves to be in my lap.
