Surprise!!

Joey is 30!!

We threw Joey a surprise 30th birthday party a couple of weeks ago. We had the party at his mom's house, where we were close to all of his buddies and some good crawfish. His mom and I did the planning, but his whole family participated in the cooking, decorating, setting up, and all of the other chores. It was so worth it. Joey lives with his head in the clouds a good bit of the time, so it was fairly easy to pull one over on him. The only problems we had with him were the night before, when he started calling and texting people and trying to plan a get together the same time we were planning the party. I just knew the surprise was going to be spoiled. He played in a golf tournament that morning, and the timing was just perfect!

Josie spotted some presents on the counter, and wasn't going to let him go to bed without opening them.

By the end of the day, we were exhausted. He was baffled that he never had a clue. He was flattered that most of the Touchstone crew and the Morrells drove from Hattiesburg. It was so much fun, but don't know if I will ever get away with it again.  Maw Maw was so so sweet to take lots of pics and made me a cd of pics in which I am too technically challenged to figure out how to get them saved on my computer and onto the blog... I will get Joey to help me with that this weekend =)

Sunday was his real birthday. Joey is notorious for spreading out his birthdays for a month, and he has done it again. Josie wasn't complaining. She picked out all of his cake decorations and had a big time helping me decorate. Look at all of the candles!
