On Josie's "real" birthday, we let her open the presents from us as soon as she woke up. She was so grateful and said thank you and gave us kisses with each gift she pulled out of the bag. I can honestly brag on myself a bit and say I am not too bad about buying a bunch of toys. She is always so tickled to get new stuff, and plays hours on end.
Modeling the Barbie necklace she made!
The next day, she had the real shin dig complete with an awesome water slide! Joey and the girls had to test it out that morning before the party.
Got the hair braided and ready to do this party!
These 4 girls went down the slide together at least 20 times!
Luke loved the water table!
Leah is Josie's classmate. We were tickled she came.
Avery holding her nose all the way down!
Jack had no problem pushing through all of those girls and sliding down!
The water balloons were a huge hit!
Time for some Tinkerbell cake!
Blowing out the candle!
Daisy and Colbie having an ice cream break.
Presents!
Colbie invited one of her friends from school, too, Vera.
The party was just perfect for Josie. She is right in her element at home, and the look on her face said it all. Thank you for all who came to celebrate my girl's big day!
Josie's 4 year stats
weight 34 lb 12 oz - 49th percentile
height 3 foot 4 inches - 57th percentile
I thought the age of 3 was just awesome for Josie. She was so much fun, growing out of the toddler age into a "big girl". She continues to be shy, but has come out of her shell a lot. She has learned how to swim this summer, and that's probably her favorite thing to do right now. Some other things Josie likes to do is play Barbies with Ryleigh, help mama do whatever she is doing like cooking or cleaning, taking care of her babies and stuffed animals, having tea parties, playing "school", teaching Colbie, and feeding the cat. She has finally become better about eating, and her favorite food is oatmeal pies ;) She also loves fruit, waffles (no butter)!, and hamburgers.
I have jotted down some things Josie had said over the past year that was funny:
I was in the bedroom and here a loud splat and then I hear Josie say "You sure are strong daddy" - apparently he had killed a spider =)
Josie tells Meme "You better brush your teeth or you are going to lose some more"!
Josie asks Me "Why are you drinking milk Mommy? So you can be strong, too? Like God"?
Me "What did you and paw paw do today, Josie"?
Josie "We looked at deer on the camera".
Me "Did any of them have horns"?
Josie "Yes! We saw unicorns"!
"Mommy! Look how long my knees are"!
At Ashleys furniture... "This sure is a long house"!
After a visit at work with mommy she asks me about the man with the amputated leg ..."Why didn't that man have a foot on his knee"?
As we take a walk in our neighborhood...she pulls up her dress and says "Do you see where the Indian shot me? Got went through there to give me a brain."
I sure do love me some Josie Kate. Although it is sad to say goodbye to the baby years, I sure do enjoy having a sidekick that can do big girl things with mommy.
Happy 4th Birthday sweet girl.
