A little birdy told me my parents had the condo in Gatlinburg in October. It happened to fall on the girl's fall break so I invited ourselves. You can do that sort of thing to your parents, you know. They won't say no. We did invite Joey. We will just say he didn't want to miss work, but the truth shall set you free. He had been looking for a weekend to have his old buddies to the new house and he saw his window.
Liza did surprisingly well on the long ride! Especially when PawPaw was in the back. She kept him lined out.
We decided to stop and do the horse back riding on the way in. They had a 30 minute ride that I knew would be perfect for the big girls. They loved this so much and still talk about it today!
Liza just got on for a pic. The lady tried to get me to let her ride but mama wasn't having it. Not with what her sweet little head has been through!
The condo
They also really loved climbing on these rocks in the stream
Downtown was my favorite part!
You can't go downtown and not get a Fanny Farkle corndog!
Ohhh, the spooky house. We got a lot of laughs out of this. Colbie has a love/hate relationship with spooky things. She is intrigued by spooky things but gets utterly freaked out by spooky things. They have the Ripleys Believe it or Not haunted house and we had to pass by several times. One time, they had the spooky man out front being spooky and she was all game to go check him out. Until we got close. We were stopping to interact with him a little bit and Colbie ran for the hills. She didn't care if she ever saw us again. She was dodging through crowds of people on down the street and I had to chase her down. Lesson learned... she loves the spooky house from a distance only. Throughout the trip, she still wanted to walk by the spooky house, but we had to cross to the other side of the street while we passed so she could admire from a distance.
One rainy morning was spent at Ober Gatlinburg.
All 3 of them loved Dixie Stampede!
Exploring around the condo. Unfortunately, all of this burned down in the fire that happened a few weeks after we were there.
The Pancake House!! My favorite!
Liza's evil eye
Bud Ogle's place!
We saw a bear (from the car) while leaving Roaring Fork!
And some more nature trails. The girls loved this part. Next time we will do a lot more free, nature things!
Dollywood! It is the cutest place but was way too crowded this time. The girls didn't complain though!
PawPaw only had two beers the whole trip but he made them count...
The most delicious ribs ever!
This is out of order but it was the picnic on the way there.
I'm pretty sure I had just as much fun as the littles this trip. It was just perfect. It had been 10+ years since I had went, and I won't wait so long next time. The cherry on top was spending time with my sweet parents. I am really blessed!
