Field Trippin'

The 2nd grade field trip was to the Institute of Marine Studies in Gulfport. This was such a neat field trip! I took the day off with Josie and it was a fun day! She wanted to ride the charter bus down there but she rode home with me because we, of course, needed to stop by the outlet mall.

They had learned so much about marine life in school this year and she loved the scientific part of this trip with all of the fun facts. We even got to quiz Joey when we got home (who has watched every Discovery channel documentary) and had learned some things he did not know (which is always fun).

She was quite impressed with his huge Megladon shark tooth.

They could sift through the sand and pick a shark tooth, and then bring it to the expert who would tell him what type of shark it came from. That was neat.

And then they rescued a dolphin! If we ever see a beached dolphin, we know just what to do!

The pools were really neat, too!

Not too sure about this part, though.

I had a great day with my girl. It was a really neat place and we plan to go back!

Colbie's field trip was to the Hattiesburg zoo. It was about as wild as you would expect from a class of 5/6 year olds running around in the heat! Colbie had the stomach virus the day before so she wasn't 100% and we left a little early, but she had fun regardless.

I LOVE this class! They are the cutest.

Ant hill surfing!

And then Colbie wanted to do some photography of her friends and they posed for her...

We are going to miss this crazy group of kiddos next year. Colbie loves each and every one of them!
