BVI yachting, Day 1 and 2

My pictures from this trip will never do it justice. They are all from my phone... this trip was not for a good camera!

The next morning, we took a ferry from St. Thomas to Tortola... where we had to go through customs because St. Thomas is the USVI and Tortola is the BVI. That was kinda a long process waiting on the ferry and all. Once we got to Tortola, they drove us to the marina where we had a great lunch and the welcome dinner that night. For some reason. I do not have many pictures from that day.

The next morning, it was time to sail away! Our catamaran had 6 cabins... 2 for the crew and 4 for us. We had 3 other couples with us. The quarters were very small... they call it "camping at sea" for a reason. But they were right... you only sleep in the cabins.

And we are off!

Our first stop was the Baths and Virgin Gorda. This was so neat. You cannot dock near the baths... so the captain pulled our boat as close as he could and off the side we went. Yep, we had to swim in. I am not sure if that is our boat in the back of the following picture, but it looks much closer than it is when you are swimming it. I loved this, it was such an adventure! So all we had was a swim suit and a wet bag and off we went.

There is a path you follow through the Baths... in and out of the water.  There was natural wave pools within the rocks and all kinds of exploring to do. So cool!!

At the end of the path, you can walk up the mountain to a little spot with a restaurant and some amazing views. Joey got the conch (lots of conch in the BVI) tenders and they were so chewy and yucky... but the frozen drinks made up for it!

We found these letters when walking up... Jasmine, me, Emily and Megan!

The Baths were beautiful... I feel like that was an experience of a lifetime. We found out near the end of our trip that someone had drown at the Baths that same day we were there... crazy! I could see how it could be dangerous. This trip was definitely more adventurous than we expected!

That night, we docked at Leverick Bay. This was a cool spot. This is where we saw Richard Branson, the owner of Virgin Records. We saw his massive spread of his house while on the boat, but didn't expect to see him! A boat parked right beside us, he and his family got off, the boat sped off, and they rushed into a little beach restaurant like everyone else. He looked like Albert Einstein in shorts, a t-shirt, and no shoes. That was pretty neat. We wouldn't have known it was him if our captain hadn't pointed it out.

This is him... we are so nosey =)

We had an amazing dinner by our chef, Hubert, and cocktails and a sunset. We already knew this was going to be one of our best trips ever!
